Rocky Point 2017

We just returned home from a really awesome 2 day trip to Rocky Point, Mexico. Some friends invited us, and oh boy and I'm glad we got the invite! We stayed in this incredible house that had beautiful Mexican tile, an incredible domed ceiling, and plenty of beds! It was a very short walk down to basically a private beach with  very low tides resulting in cool tide pools, low waves, and warm water.

One of the main highlights was keeping our eyes peeled for the mango vendor. Our goal coming home is to learn how to flower our own mangos. They taste so much better that way.

Another highlight was finding incredible seashells. The shells were large and beautiful. "Unicorn shells" were some of our favorite to find. The water was unbelievably clear, so it was fun to find treasures as we walked along. Emily and her friend Danielle made their shell necklaces the first night and wore them the entire time.

Another fun activity was going out on the kayaks. Since the water only had small rolling waves, the kids were able to maneuver around all by themselves. The older kids would paddle each other out and take turns snorkeling a little off shore. The littler kids still had fun snorkeling right off shore. I'm not really sure anyone saw anything worth seeing, but just putting on the gear was exciting.

The first day, Sharon and I took all of the kids (minus the two littlest) on a banana boat ride. It was so fun. At first it was really windy so the waves were a little bigger and the banana was crazy getting over the wave. Cammie and I were in the back and we were being tossed and thrown all over. It was awesome. We all loved it.

It was the perfect beach for floating and lounging! I loved watching Clara rush towards the beach in the huge floaty.

We haven't been on a trip with friends in a long time. The girls LOVED having their friends nearby the whole time. These girls made their "lucky" necklaces the first day and I don't think they ever took them off.

Our trusty camp

We went out to dinner one night at a fun restaurant in town. We ate delicious tacos (substituted cheese quesadillas for tripe) and drank pine-coladas.

It was such a fantastic trip, I can't wait to do it again!
