Safari Baby

Emily got some new giraffe shorts from her Grandma and Aunt Kati, so we did a fashion photo shoot in the back yard. She made some pretty cute little faces. Lately she's been smiling with her lips pursed. It cracks me up because it almost looks like a fake smile.

Too Cool

Emily has graduated from standing holding on to things to leaning her back against them. Sometimes she'll wave her arms and think she's standing all on her own. She's getting pretty god at balance and it is pretty scary to think the next step is standing all by herself- yikes!

Ouch! Emily bit me and it really hurt!

Emily is holding that toothbrush for several reasons.

1. She has a tooth!! yay! Tooth number 1. It is located on the bottom left. It is sharp to feel, but not very visible. Emily's newest trick is she likes "bite" (gum) my nose and shake her head. However, with this new pokey thing in her mouth it really hurts! But it's fun that she has this new little addition to her body.

2. Toothbrushes are a very interesting toy for her. Lately she goes for mine whenever we are in the bathroom. She knows exactly what to do with it. Since she is always trying to put mine in her mouth (gross) I decided it was time for her own.

Aunt Camille Visit

Camille came to visit this week. Of course we spent some time at the beach!! We also enjoyed Balboa Bars at Newport Beach, Wahoo's Fish Tacos, the movie Prince Caspian, Pizza Wings & Olympics. It was a fun filled couple of days!

The Lake Trip

Last week Justin, Emily, and I went to Lake Nacamiento with Justin's family. Needless to say we had a lot of fun. Here are some highlights of our trip.

Swimming in the lake. Emily was so cute in her lifejacket. If her cheeks weren't so big it might have been a little more comfortable.

We all took turns on the sea doo. I am kind of a "chicken" when it comes to motor sports, but I had SO much fun riding with Justin. He only made me fall off a few times.

Emily had her first sea doo ride with her daddy and Uncle Kody. She loved it. Well, was actually quite indifferent, but it makes for a cute picture.

Hanging out on the boat was lots of fun. Emily in her lifejacket reminded me of that little boy in A Christmas Story in the snow suit. She didn't have a very wide range of motion, but she was a trooper about it.

Eating yummy food is a big part of a good boat trip. The top picture is Emily devouring an Oreo. Don't worry she ate nutricious food too- like that yummy red plum!We had so much fun and Emly here best shows how we all felt at the end of the day- TIRED! Lucky for her, she had a nice cushion to fall asleep whenever she wanted :).

Thanks Kris and Kathy for another fun trip!

Still a cute Beach Baby

This is just a random beach picture of Emily, but I thought she looked especially pretty so I thought I would post it :).

Emily's New Friend Addison

Addison is my friends Derek and Julie's little baby. Julie's family lives near Justin's so we were able to see them while they were visiting their family. Addison is such a little cutie and Emily loved her so much! It was fun to have our babies meet since Julie and I were friends long before the thoughts of babies!

Snuggle Bug

I don't have a picture for this, but yesterday was a sweet day. Emily received her shots yesterday. How could that be a sweet day? you may ask. Well lately as Emily's mom, I have also been her designated jungle gym. She is all over the place. If she isn't moving around she's dead asleep. She even gets all skee-wampous in her stroller and high chair. Anyways- I have started to really miss my little baby who loved to snuggle with me. So yesterday because of the effects of the shots and the tylenol she was so mellow and would just melt in my arms and sit and cuddle. I was in heaven! Today she is back to her normal self rolling ALL over, wanted to stand next to things- which it is wonderful to watch her progress- but it was nice to have a little flash back yesterday.

oh p.s.- after a little smile and dance performance for the doctor, the doctor asked me if Emily was a little "show boater", I simply smiled and said "yes."
