The Happiest Place on Earth
Yesterday we went to Disneyland!!! It was Emily's first time and boy oh boy did she have fun. We started the day out in Fantasy Land. We went on Pinnochio, the carousel, and Dumbo. Then we headed over to California Adventure for a little fun. We went to a kiddy show over there. Afterwards Emily, Kathy, and Kris played in the Bugs Land area. Emily enjoyed the "It's Tough to be a Bug" show and the water sprinkler station. Justin and I enjoyed a few rides as well.
We all came back together and headed to Disneyland for the Celebrations parade. We had fun seeing the beautiful floats, the animated characters, and even dancing in the streets.
After the parade we went over to Pirates of the Caribbean, the Winnie the Pooh ride, and then to It's a Small World. They have updated Pirates and Small World since I'd last been there and they were both phenomenal! There is a part in Pirates that the boat goes down hill. I was nervous Emily wouldn't like it, but she LOVED it. "More, more" was a common phrase we heard. We had to wait in some pretty long lines, but Emily was a trooper. A couple of times, she would pick a fellow toddler in line and become friends.
After a couple rides, we went to go meet some Disney friends. We toured through Mickey Mouse's house, waited in line, watched a movie and FINALLY met Mickey. In the last few days Emily has learned how to say "Mickey Mouse" and it is so sweet! So when we entered the little room and were waiting for our turn Emily said, "Mickey" in her sweet high pitched voice. One of the workers turned around and asked who said it. We pointed to Emily and the lady was totally shocked. Apparently it isn't every day that little baby girls want to have a chit chat with Mickey. So when it was Emily's turn, it was only us and Mickey in the room. That is when the magic started. Emily was fascinated. She kept kissing Mickey and giggling. She pointed out his ears, and his nose. She gave him high fives and more kisses. It was unbearably sweet.
We also met a few more characters...
After playing around in Toon Town we went back over to California Adventure for the Electrical Light Parade. I thought it was spectacular. Emily, who had been fabulous all day snuggled in her Daddy's lap and ended up falling soundly asleep.
It was a wonderful day. It was so fun to be there with Emily! Thanks again Kris and Kathy!
