Saturday was the annual BYU vs. Utah football game. For the occasion we felt it appropriate to teach Emily part of the fight song. She really had a good time with it. Rah rah rah rah rah Goooo Cougars!!

Ever since Halloween Emily asks me if she can wear her Minnie Mouse dress. I don't really let her because it is pretty intense of a dress. Too much poof/tulle for a wear around the house dress. So I've been wanting to make her a simplified Minnie Mouse dress. I found a tutorial online that shows how to make a dress from a bandana. I used two pieces of fabric cut to the size of bandanas. This little dress was so fun and easy (I made it while Emily took her nap) to make and Emily LOVES it. Sadly for her it is getting put away until her birthday, but I had to try it on her. Anyhow, the pictures don't quite do it justice, but this little dress may just be one of the cutest things I have ever made in my entire life.

Playing With Daddy
Justin's Thanksgiving break started on Tuesday and he and Emily played played played all day. Emily was in HEAVEN. They even went on a daddy daughter date Tuesday night to get ice cream.
Being a Smarty Pants Princess
Emily still LOVES to read. Lately she's been into Monster books. Examples: There's a Nightmare in my Closet, Monster ABC, Where the Wild Things Are. She still will say, "Hi Nightmare" when she walks by her closet. Apparently I've passed on my 'princess of the family' crown down to Emily. She can pull it off though.
This is relatively new. She does the squint her eyes and give a goofy smile whenever she gets her picture taken now. Lovely.
A couple weekends ago Emily and I (Allison) went to the New England Aquarium with Bob, EmmaLee, and Ezra. We rode the train down (3 different ones) and had a good time. It was really really crowded so Emily didn't get to get out of her stroller much, but we still managed to see some cool stuff. In the middle of the aquarium is a large cylinder filled with all sorts of fish. We saw sharks, sting rays, turtles, eels, and many many other things. Other highlights were the seals and penguins. They were pretty cute.
Emily with the sting ray in the background. These would actually make her scream when they swam by because they were so fast.

Imagine my shock when we were driving around Plymouth and we saw a naked indian like the one by the library at BYU. We went to take a closer look and it wasn't just any naked indian but THE naked indian. For your viewing pleasure
See a resemblance? Turns out this guy is Massasoit - the leader of the Wampanoag tribe that saved the early pilgrims. Who knew?

I had the day off of school today for Veteran's day so Allison got a couple of discount passes from the library and we drove down to check out Plymouth Plantation. They had a replica of the English village where all of the people acted like they were from the 1600's. It was a little weird because they were very into their parts. Emily was especially excited by the chickens that ran around free. We had just gone through a First Thanksgiving exhibit and she kept shouting, "Turkeys, turkeys!" at the chickens. We also saw a Wampanoag village. The people were in costume but they spoke like modern day people. We were especially surprised at how warm their huts were inside. Those natives had were on to something. Lastly we went and saw the Mayflower II, a replica of the Mayflower that was built in England in 1957 and sailed to Plymouth. Emily liked to look out the windows in the "big boat." It was a little chilly but we had a pretty good time. It's definitely worth seeing, especially if the library is footing most of the bill.

So I can't believe it, I thought I had already blogged about this weeks ago! I went back to show Emily pictures of Baby Logan and I realized there weren't any! I can't believe I forgot that!!
Okay, so back to the beginning of October! Jessica (Justin's sister) had her cute little Baby Little in September so we went out for his baby blessing and for Jessica, Mike, and Logan to be sealed as a family. We had a wonderful time and were excited to be there for such special events in the Lainhart family.
Cute little Logan!
This is what happens when you fall asleep next to Justin & Kody in the car.

Back in October we went to Idaho Falls for Justin's sister Jessica's sealing and Baby Logan's baby blessing. We ended up having an extra day in Idaho so we spent it at my (Allison) Aunt Susan's house. She invited over all of my cousins and their kids. It was awesome! Almost every cousin was there. The year I had Emily 5 of my other cousins had babies in about a 6 month period. 5 girls, 1 boy. Unfortunately we haven't gotten them all together, but that weekend we were able to see all but 1. Here are a picture of 3 of the 5 girlees.
3 girlees and the lone boy. He looks like there are a million other places he would rather be then between those girls playing with their purse. :) It was a special time to get all of those kids together, especially since I can remember being a kid and getting together with all of my cousins at Aunt Susan's house. I just love family!
Aunt Susan has two little kitties. Emily LOVES LOVES LOVES kitties so she was in total heaven. She would play with them all day. Luckily another little cousin kind of broke them in to 2 year olds so they weren't quite as scared of Emily-in the beginning. We told Emily they were "Aunt Susan's kitties" so then if you asked her what the kitties names were, she would say "Aunt Susan."
One little cousin couldn't make it to the party, so we went saw her the next day. We went to her house where Emily became completely jealous. Megan has a horse, a cow, and a cat. I don't think Emily even knew that was possible. She was in love. The little girls had so much fun wandering around. They also have apple trees so the little girls would walk around picking up apples and eating them.
My cousin borrowed his neighbors miniature horses for the girls to play with. Aren't they perfect! Emily thought riding them was the coolest thing ever.
And of course, Emily can't make friends with animals without introducing herself with kisses, hugs, and food.
What better way to end a fun day than sitting with your friend, eating macaroni, watching Beauty and the Beast.

The bricks in our entranceway have been broken from just after we moved in. Our landlord has been promising to fix them but it hasn't happened. Lo and behold this morning we were woken up by loud crashes and bangs and saw that there were workers taking apart our steps.
Emily was very interested in what they were doing
I got caught behind the curtain
